Y'all using the fact that Americans are generally overworked as evidence that we aren't lazy is not the flex you think it is LMFAO. Americans are generally more laid back and "lazy" than many other countries. Most Americans would LOVE having the PTO that other countries have - they get plenty of time to spend with their friends and family while we're being exploited by mega-corporations that can afford to but don't give us more than like 2 weeks of PTO.

I think it's kind of rude to refer to us as being lazy. We only get 2 weeks off a year and only 5 or 6 paid holidays off. Most of us work 50 or 60 hours a week and most of the time don't even take our vacation days off. If you had to drive like we did you wouldn't want a stick shift either. I drive almost 70 miles round trip to and from work everyday. Some people drive further than I do. As far as the newspaper thing goes, that's just an honor system meaning they're trusting us to only take the one newspaper. Don't you guys have honor system boxes that farmers leave outside the city limits where they leave jars of honey or baskets of eggs? Same thing.

I remember over 6 to 7 years ago, a few acquaintances in high school kept on bugging me to get Instagram, Facebook, vine etc. but absolutely refused to since I didn’t feel like putting my private life out there along with not wanting to get involved with any sort of drama. I finally caved in on May 31, 2017 since that’s the day I graduated from high school, though I was a bit late to the game, very glad I didn’t join any social media during my middle school or high school years. Though I am on social media, always very private what I put out there and NEVER post any photos of myself since I don’t trust people or corporations. I think it all boils down to not having a hobby or interest, if people had more productive hobbies such as working on cars, cooking, reading books, getting together with people who have the same interest as you, things would be a lot more different. I usually tinker with vintage appliances in my collection and possibly will be with cars in the future.
